GlazeGuard® Satin finish performs very well a lobby ways, walkways, stairways which are typically high traffic areas. This sealer leaves a tough, durable barrier across the tile and the grout to make it easier to:
– Clean,
– Maintain, and
– Eliminate wear-patterns typical to high traffic areas
GlazeGuard® Satin finish can be used on floors and walls. You can apply the product to ceramic and porcelain surfaces both horizontal and vertical. It will work on back-splashes, shower walls, or the walls in busy environments such as schools and hospitals.
Just bear in mind that in such well-used areas, we recommend you apply two coats on a vertical application. But even with a single coat, it will still leave a very durable protective barrier in those situations.
Porcelain tiles need to be sealed, because:
1) You start changes in the appearance of the tile, and want a bit more shine.
2) You want to keep both the tile and the grout cleaner, much easier.
3) You want to control or reduce potential floor slipperiness issues.
We don’t recommend that with our GlazeGuard® Matte. Simply apply the grout, then seal the entire tile surface at the same time. That’s our recommendation when you use our product.
With regard to cleaning ceramic and porcelain tiles, if you seal it with GlazeGuard® Matte finish, it will be much easier to clean. Since you’re putting a clear sealer, or a barrier, across the tile and the grout, dirt does not stick to the floor surface. You can use mild de-greasers, or mild determined detergents to do the job. You don’t have to use aggressive chemicals or high concentration products either.
The whole process of cleaning ceramic or porcelain tile is much easier after using GlazeGuard® Matte.
If you’re trying to restore a porcelain or ceramic tile, and it was previously sealed with a wax a or flow Polish, here’s what to do.
1) Strip the wax or polish off the surface using a stripper.
2) If you need to get stains and other soils out of the tile, use a tile and concrete cleaner or something like it to clean and prep the surface
3) Then coat the tile with natural looking GlazeGuard® Matte, developed specifically for a ceramic and porcelain tile, and it will put a clear barrier across that tile and grout.
This will make it much easier to keep clean going forward.
In order to apply GlazeGuard® Gloss ceramic and porcelain tiles sealer, you need to approach it as if you were painting the floor.
You need:
A good quality rollerA roller trayA brushA little hotdog roller for sealing around the edges
We recommend a roller that is a good quality microfiber. We also recommend that you only mix the amount of product that you can use in about 60 to 90 minutes.
Make sure the room is well lit and that you take your time and applying the product. It needs to be mixed before you use it.
Use a mixing stick and slowly mix the material, then pour it into a roller tray. Then roll it out just like you were painting a floor.
